Synchronicity: Encouragement from The Universe

Finding His Bike at Leidseplein Square, Central Amsterdam,
 The Netherlands.
A little synchronicity is needed here!
Alex Chua, a Professional Coach & Trainer from Singapore, describes succinctly below how synchronicity works in our daily lives.

With Synchronicity,
all the resources we need are made available to us at the precise moment that is appropriate.
The people who come into our lives are the ones we need at that moment in time.
Everything is perfect.
We only need to recognise this to tune into the flow.
Everything happens for a Reason.
Every Experience is a Learning Experience.

Many articles and books have been written on Synchronicity.  I have provided a few links to useful uncomplicated sources at the end of this post.  Carl Jung, Swiss psychiatrist and father of analytical psychology, originally created the term "synchronicity", first introducing the concept in the 1920s.  During the 1950's after many years of consideration,  he began to  write extensively on the subject.
Jung believed that synchronicity, Einstein's Theory of Relativity, and quantum mechanics are related.  He was convinced that life is not simply a series of random events but an expression of a deeper order.  From a religious perspective, synchronicity is similar in charcter to an "intervention of grace".
While synchronicity has not been proven scientifically, it is linked to metaphysics, which in turn is now merging with quantum physics.  Perhaps we are slowly moving toward a more scientific understanding of how synchronicities manifest in our lives.  If we consider that everything is energy and that we are all connected through an energetic field, the occurrence of synchronicities as a communication from the Universe does not seem so far fetched.
Because the concept of synchronicity often appears  abstract, many people describe it by examples to which most of us can relate.

  • Money that suddenly appears from an unexpected source to relieve a severe financial crises
  • A phone call from a long lost acquaintance who solves a problem existing in the current time frame
  • Being unsure of what to do next, then suddenly finding a book, magazine, or other source which provides the needed information
  • Losing a job, then suddenly receiving a career-changing opportunity of much greater benefit or interest.
  • Trying to select a birthday gift in a store, suddenly a distant buried memory surfaces about the perfect gift to purchase for that person
  • Flipping open the Bible, the exact passage needed for the situation jumps up from that page.
Many other examples are given in the sources below.

Deepak Chopra in Synchrodestiny (Random House, 2004) discusses how meaningful coincidences are messages about the miraculous potential of each moment. On the relationship between synchronicities and enlightenment, he says the following:

“According to Vedanta (the predominant philosophy of Hinduism), there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness.
  • The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don't bother you anymore. You become light-hearted and full of joy.
  • The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous."
Synchronicities happen around us all the time.  We must to be in energetic alignment to notice them.  As we notice them, we should acknowledge them, say "thank you", and look for more to happen.  When our thoughts, intentions, desires, and interests are all in alignment energetically with the natural vibrations around us, we will be open to increasing synchronicity, messages from the Universe, our Higher Self, and Soul.
